St Judes Scouting trip
« on: October 09, 2009, 12:26:00 PM »
Don and his Bud are coming down for the St. Judes Deer and Pig hunt in a couple of weeks.I`ve always felt purty good about putting folks on game this time of year and feel good about this trip. The River has been flooded for several weeks now and is slowly falling and should be down by the time they get here. Its always best hunting in the swamp down here for me but just in case the River jumps back up I went on a scouting trip on some high ground this morning.I was kinda pleased.
I found sign of a mature boar..

And actually jumped him from his bed under a bushy loblolly pine tree about 50 yards past these tracks.I came to a big washout and found sign of some hunters from long ago...

I looped to the River which is always beautiful  and "horse`n" as my Grandad would say..

Then I found a gold mine...

And on the way out I ran into one of these...

I really look forward to this hunt , I know its gonna be fun.RC

I hope that Don and friend have been walking and hitting the treadmill - RC can walk a feller into the ground   :help:  but that might help explain why he sees so much....
