help with plx
« on: October 11, 2009, 10:52:00 AM »
i have a plx take down and i travel a lot so i take it down regularly and am having a problem getting the bow together and back apart,
it's a very tight fit and takes a lot of muscle to do. I have been using bow string wax to grease it, witch is what widow says to use i think.
any suggestions?

They recommend using the "widow wax" (the stuff they sell to polish the bows) to grease it not bow string wax. Bow string wax gets thick and chunky were as the widow wax is much thinner and smooth. I would try that before sanding it.

The fit should be tight though. In the manual, they demonstrate a technique using your knees to help pull it apart. That is how I usually do mine.

Good Luck.

Be sure and clean out the old wax before putting in the new.
