Trad Decal idea's needed...(update pg 5)
« on: October 14, 2009, 09:19:00 AM »
One thing that I have noticed is the lack of Traditional decals.  I have found a supplier that will make them up, with very little to no set up charge. And I don't even have to order 100's at a time.

Now all I need are some ideas, pic's or drawings will be help full.  You can post your idea here or sent me an email.  If I use your's you will be getting some free decals.

Somebody will probably remember the picture of a Native American siloueted on the horizon holding a compound up with the slogun "What If" underneath it. I'd like to see the same thing but with the NA holding a longbow with the slogun "Traditional Only" underneath it?

Are you wanting something that is going to be done strictly one color in silhouette (like the stupid ones with the kid p!!sing on the Ford, Chevy etc) or will these actually be printed, multi-color decals?
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

At this time they will be the white silhouette.  As soon as he get's a printer, multi-colored will available.

I believe it is the lone wolf trad archery logo in the Traditional Bowhunter magazine, that I have always wanted to have a big decal made of.  Like one to center on my rear window of my explorer.  I love that logo.  Its the guy at full draw with a fedora on, kind of reminds me of fred bear.

I wouldn't use any condescending terms on a wrap, we have enough of those on plates and bumper stickers.   How about a stump with an arrow in it, like the NFAA logo.  How about crossed bows...recurve/longbow.  Even a horizontal cutout of a recurve or longbow by itself.

I got a real nice one from Ryan Steadman in the St Judes auction last year. It was a hunter holding a longbow and had an elk rack on his back. Unfortunately I broke the glass window out of the back of my canopy with the decal on it or I could show it to you ... perhaps Ryan has another like it. I received several compliments on it.

I like all the picture suggestions but for the caption, how about "Shoot a Real Bow"

I can see a fellow wearing one of Fred's hats walking down a trail with a longbow or recurve in his hand and a quiver on his back. With the words "I choose the trail less traveled." in a half circle above and "Traditional lives on." around the bottom.

how about a picture of a tree with both recurve and longbow leaning against the tree, and if enough room a quiver full of arrows hanging from it also.

Anything that resembles a trad bow/quiver you know just something that is obviously trad and says"I shoot real bows" or for those with a sense of humor "got wood?"

Maybe an arrow 18" or 20" long with shield feathers or turkey fletch and a stone point to put along the top or bottom of the rear window? maybe with a few feathers hanging from it like on a dream catcher?
you could also use the "got wood?" slogan here.

how about the outline of a stone knapped broadhead? 3"x5"

I also like the idea of a tree trunk with a recurve and quiver leaning up against it.

Something that resembles the silhouette of a hunter with a pack and antlers on his back and a trad bow in hand.

I'm sure I'll think of more. Skippy

A recurve and a long bow string to string, facing away from each other with a barred fletch and crested cedar between them, broadhead down, and "strictly sticks"or "invading rib cages since(insert date)"in a half moon/rocker design underneath?

How about a longbow or recurve in the middle and the words in a circle around them saying..Sticks are for shooting(top), wheels are for getting there(bottom)"....Roy

I Like Vermonters idea!!!!
"To die is nothing. One is here, One is no longer here. It is only at the end one must be able to say 'I was a man'"...
