I had a good afternoon in Wsestchester. Stalked to within 30 yards of a some turkey. I saw three bucks and two does. None were close enough for the shot...thats ok. I love the woods down there.

Thanks Greg.

Jeff, Terry-congrats to both of you again. Made my night.

Jeff That's a nice one. Especially for that area!!!  Can't wait to make it down for the stump shoot.

Good luck in the Morning Ron, Those deer have to start moving any day now.

Terry, now that's one heck of a morning, bet you were on cloud 9 at work!  I would have had to take the day, might as well since I wouldn't be able to function.  In fact my boss would probably just send me home from gabbing too much about how well my morning was.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

I hope you southern tier guys leave a few walking ! I'm headed back to Allegany County tomorrow night for a couple weeks, to be with family over Thanksgiving and of course hunt deer on the family property.

Jeff, awesome buck! Congratulations! Since Mikey won't make you his hero, will you be mine?

Curt, I know its only a matter of time before a great buck and story shows up from you! If a buck gets within range of you, we know the end of the story! Not a better shot around than you! How's Cade doing, I bet he's chomping at the bit for you to take him hunting!

Thanks for the nice comments everybody.Mike, you've gotta deal.   ;)
Got up in a small oak with my LW handclimber in a travel corridor between bedding areas yesterday morning.About 6:30 a doe walks up from behind me to my left at about 25 yds and heads straight out in front of me to feed under an oak at about 40yds.I make a couple doe bleats but she couldn't care less and after a few minutes wanders off.Just as I'm thinking "looks like I'll be going home empty handed again" I look to my left and there he is.He was scent trailing the doe and went right to the big oak she fed under.I make a few doe bleats and he couldn't care less so then I make 3 or 4 buck grunts and he spins around and heads right for me.He goes around this bush that puts him on a trail that'll bring him right by me on the right, and when he's broadside I make the shot at 12-13yds.He spins around and heads for the swamp but only gets 60-70 yds. It's great when you see them go down.
Everything just worked out and luckily they never got downwind, right behind me.The grunt call saved the day and just a few days earlier I called a forky into 15yds. from the same tree.Best of wishes to all of you this season!   :archer:    :archer:    :archer:
