Didn't see a thing, even the squirrels were hiding LOL!!!!!

I know theres a storm front moving in,but the barometer was steady when I left. I really thought they would be moving.

I hear ya guys. For some reason I keep having a mental battle with myself...LOL.

Anyway, got my stand hung in a really steep valley(with a stream) loaded with sign. There is thick stuff to my north, thick pines dead ahead. Alot of blow downs in thick hardwoods right next to me.

I walked out clucking every now and then, doing my best to sound like a flock of turkey. I did the same on the way out and got about 40 yards away from a nice little six pointer. Never did see a turkey.

Hi Folks,
I have finally seen some deer on my land out here but no shot opportunities but I did see quite a nice one chasing a small doe so at least I know they are out there.  Congratulations to those that are having shooting success.  I have a load of work to do before Thanksgiving so I may not get out again but I am hopeful , Joe

You can hunt with bow where you can't go with the gun. Use this to your advantage. Cause the smart deer know this along with the smart hunter with his bow. Let the gun hunter have the big woods.

I haven't been able to hunt the last few days but the bucks have been running wild in Allegany Co. ! I have seen 4 bucks walking in open fields in the middle of the afternoon. 3 runts and a dandy 8 point. I have heard about more from a few other hunters. Hopefully they keep moving for a few more days.

Very Good Point Tucker. Gonna give that a try real soon. Small woodlots or areas close to roads, homes that have heavy cover are Great Hideouts for "smart" deer.

Nice buck Jeff. I cannot discuss my season as I am hunting on the dark side. Shoulders are real bad and more surgery due up on my left one. Gonna give it a go with the RER but have not shot much so gonna have to be under 15ds. for me to try. I am doing all right deer wise!  :bigsmyl:  Shawn

Finally seeing some deer.Saw a real nice 8 on Thursday @ 7:45am.Hung up in brush at 30 yards and continued on his way when he didnt see the grunting buck anywhere near my stand.Yesterday I got to use my new climber and saw a buck and 3 doe but all were too far or too brushy for any shooting.5 bucks and 6 doe for the season so far.The only shot was a 70lber that I shoulda shot.Id be eating venison for lunch.2 more days for me to hunt before they start getting eaten up by the rifle hunters.

Went out to add a lock to my treestand as the traffic in the woods will increase shortly. Two massve rubs and a lrge scrape 30 yards from the stand.  :jumper:

Nice new avatar Jeff!

Hunted this AM with Adirondackken,  I had a really nice buck within 10 yards.  It was till really dark but I have practiced in less light.  I wasn't even situated yet and tried to slip an arrow on the bow.  I managed to knock an arrow but was still sitting on my tush.  Not sure what spooked him, me trying to turn around or my scent but, he jumped about 5 yards sideways and disappeared into the forest.   Great experience, a little disappointed in myself for trying to identify movement without getting ready regardless of what it was. ( I thought it was a person!  Live and learn!
