Happy Birthday to a real-life hero! (Mine, anyway!)

I hope you are looking over a set of fresh backstraps right about now. Have a bunch more birthdays, Bernie, 'cause we ain't quite done with you yet!

And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I am so blessed with friends and good wishes/sentiments that it really doesn't matter that I didn't even get to see a deer yesterday. Thank you all so much (I love that picture too, Killie). It was still a pretty day to be out there, though a tad windy/cold and a long sit. I did see a couple tree rats, 1 Fox Squirrel (the black ones) and a big ol' Hoot Owl. The owl was talking up a storm and was answered by a couple others while trying to zero in on a tree rat, and flew up into a tree right near me. Funny, as it was bright daylight, yet it sounded like Spring breeding season. I chose to think they were also wishing me a Happy Birthday   ;)  .

We (Rose and I) have a very special local friend, who is a nurse and a beautiful person inside and out. She called me last night and while she is NOT a hunter she had the right slant on it:
"Bernie, I am so glad you got to hunt on your Birthday and enjoyed it. It is good you didn't get a deer because that means you will have to try again next year - and many more. I truly hope and pray that you will have at least 30 more to try."
She is such a loving and considerate person! (She should be an archer and a tradganger too.)

Bless you all, bless us all.    :archer:
