In the market for 2 a long and recurve.
« on: October 18, 2009, 04:40:00 PM »
I need some help finding the right bows for me. As stated I am looking for a recurve and a long bow both at least 50# draw at 28in. The problem I am running into is the grip. I want a small grip and small shelf.

These are from my current recurve and its what I'm looking for.

Here is the one of the current front runners, but I have just started looking today so I haven't been to that many sites.

Take a look at the Dryad Hunter.
Awesome little bow for the price with a small grip & shelf. Far superior to the bow you linked tou  ;)

I have the OMP Adironack in LH marked 50#.

I got it quite, but it's not much easier for me to pull than the new 63# recurve I just got. I draw about 28-29"  (never really measured, always leave arrows full length).  Don't know if it's mislabeled or if it's already stacking since it was my first bow and the recurve is only my second.

Shelf is still a little bigger than your pics show.

Not sure how I'd feel paying that price for it.  Got it used here on the classifieds for about half of new price...as such I can't complain.

...or for less than the OMP new you could get a blank from Dryad and put whatever grip you want on it?

Check out maddogarchery.com as well.  Here's one they make, it's bamboo backed.

I'm with robtatto,
That grip looks like a Dryad or Black Mt.style bow.

I have one of Mikes BBO bows (Maddog Archery) and it shoots amazingly well. Mine doesn't have a shelf, I just shoot it right off the knuckle but, Mike could put one in for ya if you so desire. My bow is 69", 45# @ 29". Can't go wrong with the price either!
