Congrats on the stag. I've been wanting to give them a try for a while now. I grew up on the marsh and there is nothing like it. Once that smell hits your lungs, you'll never forget it.

A friend of mine shot one and said it was the best game meat he ever ate .. and he has eaten about every thing. I have a Delta qiuver sitting around doing nothing if you would like it for your bow ... free, just pm me.

Good job. I was in MD last week hunting sikas. Shot a small spike and missed a doe. Heard lots of bugling. It's maybe the funnest animal I've ever hunted.

They aren't native to MD but Japan and were introduced to MD in 1916 when released by a wealthy land owner. They primarily live in marshland. Check this out.

Man I want to do that hunt...I am gonna offer a trade a hunt next year for a fat Illinois whitetail. I helped with the taxidermy on a stag a few years back. Their ivories are awesome: Elk-like teeth. GREAT JOB on an awesome animal!

They bow hunted them on Bowhunter Magazine TV...they said they were a very hard animal to get, it took the guy two trips to get his.
