Ok here is my 24 shot summary.

Very smooth draw with no hand shock and very quiet. Windage on shots is exactly centered. Haven't chrono'd the bow but its noticeably faster than my other two bows of equal weight.

If you have ever shot a Black Widow SA or PSA its a very similar feel and performance without the noise of the Widow. I would take it to the treestand tomorrow. Very nice bow.

Oh you had to say that about the PSA didn't you!  That 'feel' I shoot well!

Nice bow!

Hmmmm, that 24 shot report sounds about right.  I think the 100 shot report might have a little more emotion in it though   :biglaugh:  especially if it includes a little stump shooting...

I told you I found a GEM   ;)

I do want to add, I put the new flemish twist 8 strand with loops padded to 16 D-97 string on it Allen (A.S.) made for me and with two untwists the brace height was at 7-3/8" and and my arrows loved it. This bow was very simple to tune. I realize I am not finished and need to fine tune some but literally within 5 minutes it was shooting bullets.

As you all know, most bows have a sweet spot in brace height where the bow gets its quietest. At three different brace heights from 8" down to the 7-3/8" there was no change in tone from this bow. It was dead quiet.

TJ,

Any way you can do a comparison between the stock string and the A.S. string--performance wise?

Steve, yes Brian had wanted that info as well. I have another string from A.S. and they are very nice. Amazing how quiet they are for D-97. They came with nocks tied on and wooly puffs installed. Can't beat that.

Tom....like you, I started out bracing my bow from 7 1/2" to 8", which is pretty much standard for the majority of todays recurves. The bow shot good anywhere in that range.
In my talks with Brian, he suggested bracing it at 7 1/8".....bingo.... My bow stays braced at 7 1/8".....it is a bit quicker, just as quiet as any other brace heighth, and performs best. Run it down to 7 1/8" and se what you think about it.
I prefer a lower brace on my bows and was pleasantly surprised to find that the bow shoots best with it set this low....another plus in my book.

Tuning my bow....well....there were no tuning issues at all. I do shoot off a rest, so that simplifies things a bit. I have shot arrows as light 2013 aluminums, up to Vapor 4,000, and everything in between, they all shoot good, and that's a pretty wide range in spine out of the same bow. My arrow selection boiled down to simply whatever I wanted to shoot. I'm hunting with 60-65# POC shafts, 160 gr Ribteks, but I could easily be shooting 2016 or 2018's with the same accuracy.

Don't anyone doubt that Brian has this bow figured out down to a T until you shoot one for yourself.

Thanks Billy I'll take a few more twists out tonight. I to like a very low brace height. Glad to hear it will take a variety of shafts also.

For those who don't know and to Billy's point, Brian isn't the new kid on the block. He has been refining this bow for 14 years now.

You guys are going to have a bunch of us ordering bows before it over with!!

As far as the 8 strand string goes....I have cronoed them against 12 and 10 strand strings on my bows. I picked up a few fps (free energy in my book!), but the big difference is how much quieter the bow is with the skinnier string.

I have an 8 strand on my ACS that literally has several thousand shots through it this summer, and is still going strong. No durability issues at all.

You guys keep raving about the Tall Tines...I just may be the next one to pick up the phone and order one!!  :bigsmyl:

TJ, I mentioned the roadtrip to my wife. She said as long as she could tag along. Mentioned something about wanting to meet the guy that convinced me I need a new bow.   :biglaugh:
