Too Cold
« on: January 06, 2007, 10:36:00 AM »
I was just outside clearing snow off of my range and came to the conclusion that 8 is too cold for me to shoot.

I know I'm soft and weak but I think I will wait till it warms up to 10 and try again.

Sorry to hear how cold it is out there.  I hope you make it to 10 degrees.

Here, in upstate NY, we have a 1/6/07 winter day of +60 degrees.  Yesterday was in the high 50's.  Believe it or not, last night I went out and picked up two dozen nightcrawlers in 15 minutes in a light rain.  They were all over the place.

My backyard range is so soggy it's like walking on a wet sponge.  So I'm going to try my luck fishing today.

Ticks!

Great news!  It is up to 17.

The down side is it is snowing and the wind is gusting to 30. Oh and dark.

I set up a light and I can get 12 shots off then need to come in for awhile between rounds.

Praying for something that resembles cold here. Fought mosquitos for most of our season, Deer moved later, fish sprinted threw and our wild ducks are stalled in New jersey. Today 78F. sunny - w @ sse 10-15 absolutely strange . Pretty much have to shift mind gears. Charleston Sc. Thank you for late hog seasons.

There aren't any mosquitoes around, but the ticks are still out and looking for snacks.

The apple growers have buds developing on their trees, which is not a good thing.  The maple syrup producers are also saying this could be bad for that industry.

I guess it is winter some where. I thought it was summer today. Almost 70 degrees  for the first Saturday of Winter bow where I hunt.

Southern NH, 66 degrees. Had a dandelion flowering on my lawn about a week ago. Nothing is frozen over and the animals haven't started to hibernate. Buds appearing here also. Jan 6th and I am out back in a t-shirt shooting - very unusual winter.

Enjoy the warm!

Your fist sign that there might be a winter storm is when your friends ride their snow mobiles over for Bible study!

It is windy and cold!
