Haven't had a need for a drink since my divorce(no offence to those that enjoy a drink) so I usually have a soda. As far as smoke that means I'm stuck on the downwind side of the campfire. Ceegars turn me a little green around the gills.

Dagwood,
Thanks are offered before the deer ever leaves the woods! Place a twig in it's mouth, kneel and gently cradle it's head while thanking the Creator.  We keep our priorities straight around here.

Well, I don't drink or smoke, but back in the day, I used to think that a chewy red wine was a nice accompniment to grilled backstraps.

These days, it's hard to beat the sound of laughter from good friends, the smell of swirling wood smoke, and the taste of a strong cup of coffee to celebrate the hunt.

AFTER THE PRAYERS comes a deep red Zin, and if there's smoke around it's the California kind too.
Go figure, I'm Cuban, have access to the best cigars in the world, and you couldn't pay me to smoke tobacco.

BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, don't loose that reverence!

A prayer of thanks and good cup of coffee next to the wood stove would work for me. Maybe a glass of wine with the backstraps.....

Like a recent deer hunting saying goes, "If it is brown, it is down!" I prefer mine to be charred white oak flavored.  Any decent cigar will do but if someone wants to give me a good one, it is appreciated.  d;^)

While the blackstrap is grilling a nice glass of Gentleman Jack over ice and reflective moment along with thanks to the Great Spirit for wonders that we all call nature. The cigar sounds great, but dang I have a headache for the next day and can't get the smell out of my nose for a week. Truth is giving the thanks is the most important, every time that I open my eyes to the wonders of nature it just seems fitting to thank Grandmother.
Regard’s,
Jim

"if there's smoke around it's the California kind too."

Uhhhhh, you talking about the recently legalized kind?         Never tried it but I think I'd take a cigar first and I don't particularly like 'em.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I'll take a bottle of my homebrewed California Common or a nice 90 minute IPA from Dogfish Head.  I prefer seasoned oak smoke to cigar.  Slainte to all lucky/skilled enough to fill your tag.
