56" T/d Curve Opinions? Sight window?
« on: October 25, 2009, 08:18:00 PM »
Thinking of getting a 56" bow. I know there are several 58" t/d curves out there but not many 56"...I would like one with belly mounted static tips but any other suggestions will do. Oh yes the only other requirements are that it shoots as fast and well as my 60" Predator, and is more forgiving, quiet and hits where i look(not shoot!) All at my 27" draw.

If it was me, there would only be one choice.......a Kwyk Styk from Jack Kempf.  Shoot one and you'll know why.

Whisperstik Kajika.  Very fast and smooth at much longer draws than 27".  I have a 56" mojo and it is the best curve I have had to date.  I sold my 60" Predator.

Shawnee, Cheyenne or ILF. ILF will go to 52" at your draw.

Shoot some short bows first to see if you like them....I dont shoot them well(fingerpinch..... my release gets sloppy). My 60" predator is about as short as I like to shoot.

I have owned some of the bows listed above. The BlackWidow PSA works for me, I like the high brace height and riser weight of the PSAs. Lots of great bows out there, hope you find the one thats best for you.

I have ended up being another "longbow guy" but I've owned a Toelke t.d. recurve and one of his newer 1 pc. Chinooks. Both are great recurves, beautifully made in 56" and other lengths, smooth, fast (the Chinook especially so, particularly with heavy arrows) and exceptionally QUIET! I believe your draw length can be accomodated by dan's 54" t.d. but verify that. The website is  www.montanabows.com  and you can see some of both bows by clicking on current inventory.

Ive also heard great things about the Kwick Stik, and would like to shoot one some day. What I have shot, is a RER Arroyo in 54"

No finger pinch with its static tip design, smooth and fast. Not a TD, but for the price, and availability, I think it worth it.

Our Orion T/D curve will be reviewed in the next TBM.  Early numbers are very good but I can't tell you til the magazine come out otherwise Blacky will skin me.  LOL

At the price you will not find a better shooting curve.
