sneek preview/annewakee/ kill pics on page 3
« on: October 26, 2009, 07:33:00 PM »
I found myself up around John Dill's neck of the woods this morning. Decided to stop in and pick up some arrow inserts. I pulled up to the Kanati compound and the watch dog,(Spanky) met me at the gate. after about two steps into the gate and reassuring spanky that I was a good guy, John step around the corner with a friendly,"Bite him Boy". Well spanky went back to his watch post under the porch and me a john went in the shop where he was busy building quivers and watching Elen on TV. I got my insersts and noticed a few bows hanging on the wall that I had not seen before. John had told me he was  adding a bow to his product line a while back. In fact he shot one when we went to erie for the ibo trad shoot. I guess i just did'nt want to fool around with a differant bow at that time and kinda forgot about it. John said to go out and shoot the one he'd been hunting with. I shot it good and got my intrest up. we went back in and got another and I shot it even better. It was not the best day to test bows. It was missty an very brezzey but I shot bow #2 good enough to know I could kill some stuff with it. Well John said I could have the bow to field test  with the condition that I kill mucho wild game with it and win every 3D shoot I go to (with the exception of the ones he shoots in). I brought it home and the weather has been bad today but did get out in the shop and shoot a few more arrows. the bow is 54" long ,47@28, has Gabon Ebony riser with red accent. Limbs are spalted sycomore with bamboo cores. I shot several differant arrows and it shoots them all good. the arrows in the pic are litespeed 500's. with 200+ on the front for a total arrow weight of around 560gns. Got to get it outside, but I can tell you this is a beauty and a shoots right where I look. Maybe it will change my luck, I have'nt even drawn my bow on stand this season. seen a bunch, just no good shots. thanks for looking Don
One of the red arrows has an abowyer brown bear on it the other two have 200gn fld tips. I shanked the yellow one. this group is only 13yds in my garage.
   Sweet looking little bow

I usually keep all my bows out in my shop, but tonight I brought this one inside and put it gently on my wife's side of the bed. LOL.

I got home a little late to go set this evening, which was really ok since Ive been thinking about getting home in time to give this bow a test on the batcave 3d range. I been playing with differant arrow/broadhead combos. every thing from 460gn arrows to 700+.  I have figured out that with this baby when I yank one it's a line cutter 8 or even a 5. I think were comming togather though. I'm gonna shoot it out of a loc on and climbing stand tomarrow. I think the 54" length will be a welcome addition. Ive been shooting 60 to 64 " bows out of the tree. May even get out in the woods tomarrow afternoon. I'll report on the double lung shot when it happens. Just need one to walk by between 12 and 25yds. Don

Oh, by the way, Lee, congrats on your kills. You are flat laying them down this year. You can be proud of your work. It's as good to look at as it is to shootl. Don

Right on Lee. John covered up the info with a quiver of some sort. I shot some pig arrows that I have tonight in the shop. Gizzly stick with 300gns up front for a total of 675gn arrow. they flew good. even shot a dot though the paper frame. inside range is only 13yds, but thats my favorite distance for pigs or closer. by the way the arrows were stuck in the block target pretty good. Got to go get the new bow a glass of water and tuck it in. I guess John is busy watching another Eastwood flick or dancing with the stars. LOL DB
