Was just talking to Don on the phone and he was telling me about this - it was easy to tell he is very impressed with the bow. I got to shoot two of John's Hoots-made bows, one evening a couple weeks ago, or so. I haven't shot a laminated bow for a long time (been sticking to all wood for a couple years or more now), and hadn't shot a recurve for about 6 years, so I wasn't sure how it would go. I, of course, loved the handle, right off the bat. The first bow was a little heavier than I normally draw  (about 50+ # as I recall, but not at my draw length) but it drew surprisingly easy and smooth for me and put about three arrows right where I was looking. I really liked it. John then broke out a lighter one (around 40 at my draw) and it was easier for me to hold, and had the same results for me. I also was most impressed with how sweet they shot/nandled. Not only that, they were real beauties to boot, as you can see. I can't imagine that John won't do very well with this line of bows as folks see them and get to shoot them. (Shhhhh! - they are even tempting me very sorly - shhhhh!)

Don't miss a chance to try one if it presents itself - betcha yer gonna like it a bunch. (Pink too-toos not withstanding   ;)  )

thats great mr don! heard youre shooting abowyers this year, picked up some ben pearsons and we're gonna try and stick one with them. already shot a doe, good shot but hit a rib solid enough to limit penetration to about 3 in.  found the arrow, broadhead broke off inside her. there was blood(not lung)up about 2 in of the shaft.  really a bummer.10 yds treestand.
also, I stalked a big doe into 12 yards in my back woods. no shot due to just enough brush cover.
anyway sweet bow, they shoot great, shot one of johns and might go that way eventually

Hope you can pry Don's new addiction out of his hands. After your hunt this week for another test try.

Was that one one of the ones I shot, John? It looks like it and I think the wood types jive - but not sure. As I recall, that (heavier) one was the one you were shooting that evening. Oh, Don is usually very good about letting me try out his bows, just as you are (since I'm so puny anyway - LOL) but I don't know about this one -   ;)

That's a nice looking bow. Really like the stippled grip. John's stuff is A#1 so I know these are great bows....

Don - go kill something with that bow and lets see a pic. Give us a big old fat smile when you take the pic  :)  ....

Bernie - calm down old man - that heart ain't as strong as it used to be.    :bigsmyl:

That's my good friend, Wally, always concerned for my health - like laying snakes on the shooting block in front of James Wren (without warning me), and the such   :biglaugh:

That's my good buddy, Wally - always looking out for my health - like putting a snake on the shooting block to scare James Wren (without warning me    :scared:   )    :biglaugh:

It's a sweet one for sure, John - and so was the other one.
