Anyone Switch bows mid season?
« on: October 27, 2009, 05:53:00 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has switched bows mid season to bring some new mojo/juju to the mix…I just made a new string for my Kajika longbow and I’m going to get it dialed in.  I hunted turkeys with it this spring and shoot it great!

I can shoot them with the same arrow and broadhead combo.

Just trying to figure out what to do…something has to change.  I need to bring out the rally cap!

I have several times over the years. I shoot all my bows almost exactly the same. If I keep my form good the arrow does it's job. Most days I shoot one bow a little better than the other one so it will be my go to bow, that would be the Grif.

I have been "Known to". As I'll do just about anything if I think it will help changing my luck.  Got to admit though that it's probably not the smartest thing I do with alll of the practice time I have in with my Go To Bow  :knothead:    :wavey:

Yep. I think a switch gets us to re-focus and pay closer attention to detail. Sometimes i get complacent when shooting the same bow over and over.

Josh, I've been switching back and forth with my recurve and long bow limbs for over a month, since they both shoot the same for me,it's an easy switch! as far as mojo goes, I know what you mean, 25 days of hunting and haven't seen a deer at all, Till two days ago and now they are everywhere's, got my miss out of the way yesterday AM! Hang in there bud things are starting to heat up in the woods now!! Jim

I have but it's usually because someone buys my bow and I have to setup another one.

It's ususally not too hard though.  It all else fails I just build a new one.

I have switched four times this year. I figure as long as you can hit where your aiming not really a big deal.
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Does the fact I have 26 bows tell you anything...lol....!

Yea, I just switched from my TT Titan to my Shrew LB, I can use the same arrows but switched to heavier heads.

I've taken 6 deer in a row (over 2 years) with the Titan and have started feeling sorry for my Shrew so I'm going to take her out to play for awhile.

Its a nice change of pace, I am re-appreciating the light graceful nature of the deadly Shrew.  While still being amazed by the cool efficiency of the Titan.

No!No!No! BAD BAD JU-JU. The little gremlin critters know when something is different. They jump out of the trees and make your arrows miss. I don't even like to wash my under pants!!!
The size of the horns don,t matter

We have a 12 deer limit, I've killed three with a BW PAX bocote/mammoth tusk, three with a PAX Tiger Maple and i am switching to a BW longbow with copperhead skins  and if I kill three with that I guess I'll start over.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

Heck, I switch bows during the middle of the day.  Don't do it to change mojo, rather is dependent on the stand I'll be hunting.

I like to fill tags with different bows.  I have been shooting 3 different bows all summer, so I figure why not?
