Well guys i've had quite a successful couple of days. The good lord has truly blessed me.
Tuesday evening I decided to hunt a grasspatch with a 18 foot ladder on it. I climbed up and at about 5 30, 2 big does and a fawn came in. They came in about 25 yards from me but the mama doe was staring at me hard. I finally mananged to stand up but she kept staring at me meanwhile the doe I wanted to shoot was eating and perfectly broadsided the whole time.
Well the mama doe decided she had had enough and she bounced in the woods along with the baby. The doe I wanted to shoot bounced to the edge of the patch but stopped perfectly quartering away at 19 yards. I pulled back and could just remember telling myself pick a spot and I let it fly. I watched the arrow hit behind her shoulder right where I was looking. It was the greatest feeling i've ever had! I didn't get a complete pass through but she went about 150 yards and piled up and I had a good blood trail.
Then yesterday evening I was hunting a different grass patch and two big does came in. They eventually fed closer and I shot one at 23 yards. I hit her a little farther back, but she crashed right outside the patch! I love landsharks!
I am absolutely on cloud nine since this is my first year shooting traditional and I've only been shooting traditional since august. I've killed many deer with a compound but nothing can ever describe how it feels to get one traditonally.. I'm hooked! I want to thank all of yall because yall have been so helpful and I would especially like to thank Mr. Bill (aka. maxwell) for all of his helpful insight and for selling me my beautiful black widow!
Hope these pics work..
