Getting plans together to build my first dozen arrows and I need to know where to get a good scale to weigh the finished product. Any help appreciated as always.

I was looking at that but, is it big enough to weigh a whole arrow or is it just for doing tips? Kinda small looking.

All scales will have range, look for one in Grains because points, inserts and adapters are weighed in grains.
Shooting suppliers also have digital grain scales. Prices are more for good scales. Check your favorite outdoor store's archery or reloading dept.

The small digital scales will handle the arrow just fine. Anything with a capacity over 1000 grains will do the job; the 3RA scale goes to over 4000 gr. A larger scale might be more convenient, but they cost a bunch more, too.

They work great, Take two pieces of fletch tape down the center lengthwise far enough to keep arrow in place then put two piecea of heavy serving ontop of the tape. This lets you balance you arrows on the scale.

Sounds like that little scale will do the trick then. Thanks for the tips guys! Always appreciate your willingness to share advice. Stay safe and shoot straight out there.

I'm cheap and just use a 500 gr reloading balance scale. I leave the points off and weigh separately and add the two numbers together to get total arrow weight.

I use my old reloading balance scale also. I just cut a notch in the sides of the pan to hold the arrow shaft.

I did the same thing as cedar with my old reloading balance scale. Worked well, but now I have an old Seattle Archery arrow scale that I use.

Butch, don't know how I over looked that one. I was at Kustom Kings site looking at arrow building supplies and somehow missed that. I like how the digital reading is at the bottom for ease of viewing. Thanks for the tip!

I use the hand held balance type sold in 3 rivers, its cheap and it works. You can throw it your pocket when you go to a swap or trade meet and check broadheads or shafts you want to buy.

Like Paul, I use a 1000 gr digital reloading scale made by Pact. Available at Midway, Cabelas, etc. Around $80 as I recall.
