My New Long Bow
« on: April 07, 2007, 09:38:00 AM »
Hope you guys would like to see my new bow, but even if you don't, I want you to see it!!!!  It's the second bow I've made.  This one is from a form designed and built by Art Adkins of Montrose, MI.  It's 68" long, 47# @ 28".  Clear glass over curly maple that was dyed black for a subtle beauty.  Riser is dymondwood.  And, before anyone tells me I need to pad the shelf, in its finished form, the shelf and sight window are covered with black velcro.  It shoots almost as well as my recurve (or maybe it's me, not the bow!).  Anyhow, here it is.....

Wow, that a beauty Dave! I met Art several years ago at the GLLI while shooting the course and he seemed like a real nice fella.

That a beauty! I'm glad you showed it to us. I'll bet that dyed curley maple shimmers beautifully in the sun. Wish I could see it in person. Mike

Nice bow! I really like the wood in the riser and the grip looks very comfortable.
