Does anyone have any suggestions on tanneries in the western states. I've got a fine bear hide I need to have done. Good or bad, I'd like to hear about it.
ch
ps. I don't want to do it myself. I can never get the head/face area soft.

Rocky Mountain Tannery located at Rawlins, WY. They primarily do work for many taxidermists. They've been in the business for 30+ years. (307) 324-3329

I agree. I have had the hides from a moose, caribou, grizzly, mountain lion and javelina all done there.
They even saved the underfur ( after combing) fromthe grizzly hide so I could use it for fly tying. Great people and service.
Also check out Trails West Taxidermy in Rawlins. He has done several mounts for me as well. That way you hide and mounts never leave town and don't get lost.

Does Rocky Mountain Tannery have a website? If so, can someone post a link.
