Two years ago in NY during the youth hunt, same thing there beaks froze shut, but they were still out there. We had no luck but saw birds, my daughter is to old this year or we would be out there in any weather.

Same stuff here.  Nothing weather related surprises me after 40 years of living here :-)

Ron we just got a dusting, nothing like you got. I haven't heard any birds yet but it shouldn't be long. I can't wait.

I went out scouting yesterday and heard a couple of hens but no gobbling.  Plenty of scratchings. I saw a couple of nice birds 2 weeks ago with some hens but they werent vocal this morning.

we floated and fished the river here yesterday, had a 3 and 4 year olds in the boat, played in the sunny afternoon.  Too bad for the kids with that snow.

Took my 8 year old this morning on youth hunt.   No snow but 26 degrees.   Like you said Ron they were silent.  We had about 4 barred owls within 50 yards all around and he got a big kick out of them.  Everytime they really got going he would laugh until he nearly cried.  Thats memories right there...

Yes, the eastern spring of 2007 sure is crazy. But you have to admitt those pictures are pretty. Just be happy you have the chance to get on out there and enjoy the scenery. I've been tied up with little leauge baseball practice in the snow here. Wish we were out chasing turkeys.
