I hit him a little higher than mid ship and middle of the ribcage and the arrow exited low second to last rib on other side. It took out both lungs and clipped the bottom of the heart somehow. Blood trail was an easy follow and we smelled him before we saw him near the creek.
I owe Tom big time for helping me drag these deer out. It was surely an ass kicker. For me anyway. I'm thinking 3/4 mile drag on both minimum. Heck, Tom even field dressed my doe while I was getting my tree steps and pack off my tree. Thanks Again Tom!!
Now I have to wait until gun season before I can get another buck with my bow at this hunt. I'm going back this weekend and I'll probably see Godzilla himself and won't be able to do a thing about it.
This was after getting the buck out. I was seriously wore out.
