feather color
« on: November 06, 2009, 05:08:00 AM »
i killed a deer the other day and saw the arrow pass through and could not find my arrow when i got down. i have been thinking of tring a new color combo for day light. i uses reflective white wraps so night is not much of a problem. right now everything in the woods now seems to be red, white, yellow with all the leaves turning. i have been considering pink. these is nothing in the woods that is pink. should be able to see them very well. any of you use pink. b-dog

Light blue is another color not found on the ground in the woods.

Besides some turkey feathers every once in awhile and some old arrows fletched with yellow feathers pink is all I use now. I personally can see them much easier than any other color I have tried.

My combo is Onestinger yellow DD reflective wraps with 4 x 4" pink naners and yellow nocks. This combo just jumps out for me and do not see switching anytime in the near future.

Bright pink with a contrasting flouro yellow nock is awfully hard to lose...so 90% of the time it's this...

And every once in a while, this...

GO TEAM PINK!!!    :biglaugh:

I'm with JC. Pink with yellow nocks is all I shoot. Haven't lost an arrow since I went pink    ;)

No pink for me, but white wrap with chartreuse feathers is quite bright.

Pink shows up great, even when bloody.  Now blue on the other hand...lots use it, but I can't see it in flight worth a crap!  Pink, flat out, shows up great going into the rib cage of a dark brown deer to track shot placement and is usually super easy to find in the woods.  Just my opinion of course.  I like Chartreuse alot too!

Pink's the best: it's so obnoxious there's nothing in the woods like it.

If you can't stand pink, another (surpisingly) good color in Autumn is that neon lime green color.  You wouldn't think green would show well, but that lime green is so different from natural green that it actually shows up quite well.

Plumber, it actually works out really well at shoots too. There's almost always someone with some "sissy/prissy" remark to make...usually they make a point to mention it in a crowd, which only makes it easier to shame them into putting their money where their mouth is. You'd be surprised how much money I've one on side bets with my "sissy" arras against their "he-man" ones   ;)

I prefer peuce with a slight amber tint, with some contrasting mauve.    :saywhat:

Or white.   Or chartreuse.

Well heck George, and here I thought you weren't able to step outside your comfort zone. Peuce, amber and mauve, not that's a feller with an open mind right there.    :clapper:
