I was out hunting my papaws land only 7 acres but good deer territory all day no break till about 5:30pm probly a ten pointer did not take the time to really count came into my shooting lane I was in a natural blind I made maybe 10 yards and flat out mist right over his back im so disgusted at myself I dont no what to do          :mad:

when i first started hunting i missed 7 deer and gut shot one and that was with a compund so dont feal to bad it could always be worse

Don't be angry at yourself. Seems like ya didn't "pick-a-spot", that's all... You'll get another shot at him. That's why it's called hunting.

I know how you feel.  I've been trying to get a deer for the past 4 years with a homemade bow and just haven't had a shot opportunity.  Last week I finally got my opportunity on a big doe and completely blew it.  No excuses other than poor shot execution.  The upside is that it was a clean miss and I found my arrow.

It sucks, but I keep telling myself that it was a learning experience.

Dude I missed 2 deer in 3 days last week its ok it'll happen just aim at a hair not the whole deer.

I just missed a monster tonight, and still feel like I was succesful. Remember Its not what you get when you hunt Its what you get out of the hunt that matters!

ive shot 19 times and only killed one animal and that is the 10 pt in my avatar, everything is else is right over the back.  I cant get it down.

I believe that most missed shots are high.  Also don't forget that the buck could have ducked slightly( can see this reaction on slo motion videos).  I put an arrow over the largest buck I have ever seen about 3 years ago at 12 yards;  I can still visualize him walking off with antlers big enough to be a chandelier.

I feel better now I was just mad at myself for so called flock shootin instead of picking a hair like I now I should sure glad I didnt wound him also feel better cause i saw him again sunday afternoon running out of the woods were he ran into after shootin at him last friday he was running from guys siting in there smoke poles at the farm next to my papaws land the buck ran across the road were he came from friday im afraid hes going to get hit by a car before I get another shot Thanks for the support everyone im hooked to trad hunting I already gave my compound to my dad if he wants to hunt im pretty much the only one who hunts deer in the family no one nows were i got it from its just instinctive to me.
