Wensel Woodsmans and 45# bows?

I have a set of limbs coming that will be 45#'s at my 28 inch draw. I have always been partial to 3 blade broadheads but have never shot limbs this light before. So the question is this...
With a 45 pound draw and a 450 grain arrow is this enough for a Wensel Woodsman ro am I going to be forced to go to a 2 blade broadhead?
Anyone out there shooting light weight bows and using wensel woodsmans? How was penetration?

I have some on order for my 40# recurve. Will let you know how they work.

I haven't shot that light, but wouldn't hesitate to use them!

I took 3 deer and a turkey last year with an older, 1976 Bw, #45 and WW broadheads, at nearly exactly the same weight arrow you are shooting. Put it where it counts, get your skinning knife ready.

I used a 45# SR Swift and WW to take a spike horned buck a couple weeks ago. It was only a 15 yard shot but a pretty steep angle from my tree stand. The WW went through and hit the off side leg bone. It did the job but I'm still partial to the old Zwickey Eskimo with my lighter setup.

I shot a doe 2 weeks ago, 28-30 yards with a 46# Black Widow PLV, grizzlystick sitka's and 150gr Woodsmans, with 75gr brass inserts.
She was at a severe quarting away angle, the arrow entered low and far back behind the last rib,it started as a gut shot but went through the liver, one lung, broke ribs and stopped on the off side shoulder!
She went about 75 yards.
I wouldn't hesitate to use them out of your bow, just make 'em sharp!

My sons and I have shot over 80 animals with the ww and I believe it penetrates better than a 2 blade, If I was using a 45# bow that is the broadhead I would use.....Tim

I have killed two whitetails with a 47# longbow and 530 grain arrows mounted with Woodsmans and blew thru both of them. You should be fine. Good Luck-Mike

I have a buddy who shot a 45 @ 28" bow with woodsmans. I know he killed three deer while using that setup. Pass throughs on the two I helped him drag out. Not sure about the other one, but I know it made for a quick kill. He also draws well short of 28".
