Squirrel hunt Green Mountain style
« on: November 08, 2009, 07:54:00 PM »
Dave has been telling me about his squirrel honey hole for some time now.So after a small gathering in town,we headed northwest of town and tried our luck.

We caught probably the last warm day of the season here.I'd say it cracked 60 today,if not close to it.Super nice day, dead still,no wind,no leaves in the trees.

Our local Blackswan spokesman leading the way in with the Black swan hybrid

We get to the back of the place and it's a freaking maze of sap lines

I was bringingup the rear with the vintage Bear griz,my selway six arrow loaded and back quiver loaded full for anything we might see(Partridge, turkey, bear, rabbits, and squirrels are all in season for us up here)

Lemme tell you guys about this place.Absolutely loaded right down with tree rats.     Never been in a patch of woods in my life with so many. And they never get gun hunted,so they just kept staying around for shot after shot!   :readit:

Man that sounds like fun and looks beautiful up there. One day I'll make it to your neck of the woods.

Today was the last day of the two day youth season so I figured a bright shirt was in order. lol

I choked on a full broadside shot on that gray. 40 yards wide open and all I got was some fur on my judo. Very disappointing.    :(

It was a great day for hunting in the cornflakes.
