75 grain brass inserts - standard carbon ?

Is there anyone who makes 75 grain brass inserts for standard carbons (0.244-0.246 ID) ?  

Want the length of the 100 grain insert, but they are a bit heavy.  The 50 grain brass are much shorter.

I know there are 50 & 100 grain.  Does anyone drill out the end of the 100 grain to reduce weight a bit ?

I still want the length of the 100 gr. for better adhesion to the shaft.  Was thinking more along the lines of drilling out the tiny hole on the last quarter of the insert to a bigger hole.  Someone with a very precise drill press could do it.  

If there are vendors out there - I would buy 3 or 4 dozen & there are probably others who would also.

All you need to do is turn the insert in a lathe, and take 25 grns off the face.  Alot of time involved and not really worth the effort.
If you want to loose 25 gns drop it in the point wt.

Is that something you have tried before or would do ?  An extra $1 per insert ?  Or do you mean really too much effort ?

I have turned down various inserts and points to play around with.  Facing a few dozen inserts would take a considerable amount of time.

I shave it off with grinder- let's me "super" tune it as well.

Seems like a lot of trouble for 25 grains?  I agree with Badger, I'd focus on lowering your point weight if possible.

My arrows are currently tuning with point/BH weight of 125 grains with the 100 grain brass inserts.  Want to use heavier broadheads (150 to 200 grains).  May go with the 50 grain brass which are shorter than the 100 grain brass inserts or maybe build out my sideplate after the season is over.

I find the 50's make your shaft act longer, weaker, due to the difference in insert lenght, but it is not a lot.  If you have room you can consider cutting the shaft down.  If you don't have the room I think you have the right idea with building out the side plate.

Very interesting about the 50 grain insert making the spine act weaker than the 100 grain.  I was assuming the opposite.  The approx. half inch glued/un-glued shaft length makes a bigger difference than the 50 grains difference of the inserts.
