Dwyer Dauntless opinions ...
« on: November 11, 2009, 11:10:00 AM »
Wanting opinions on a Dwyer Dauntless.  I had one a few years back and sold it ... I regret that deeply!!  Anyway, that one was a one of a kind 64 inch ( gosh I am stupid!!!  :banghead:  ).  Anyway, I was wondering if those that have them would give opinions of how they shoot, the 62 inch versions.  Can you draw 30-30.5 inches with them without stack or pinch?

Do you feel they are quiet?

Are you satisfied with the speed?

I was thinking of a Bocote riser with yew over boo for deer hunting.  Any opinions welcomed.

thanks,

Bob.

Heck man, you are only 3 hours away (at the speed limit), why don't you call him up, set a time, and drive up there?

I called a half hour ahead when passing through the area and was welcomed for a wonderful visit and shop tour. Dave and Sue are great folks.

PS, take your checkbook, you know you are going to get a new bow, so quit fighting it.

I like my 62" Dauntless 61#@29.

I only draw 28, but I don't notice any pinching or stacking at my draw length.

I'm not an expert (haven't shot that many bows),  but it is a lot quieter than the Bear Super Kodiak I shot last night.

String Cutter, thansk but i am a righty.  Shaun, Dave is outa town for a week or so, so I was wondering if the tradgangers had any opinions.  If he was home, I would have asked him directly.  You are right, he and Sue are great people.  Dave is awesome, he lets you shoot any bow you want to see if it is a good fit for you.

I have never shot a 62 inch dauntless. Like to know if it much faster, quieter than a defiant.

LOL - I wish I wasn't such a newbie otherwise I could help as I work in the same town as Dwyer's shop.

I am actually going to call them up and see if they will help my son and I in our new trad. journey.

I have a 62 inch Dwyer Dauntless 50 @ 28. I dont have a long record of experience with trad equipment, but I really like my bow. It's fast, quiet, and hits hard. I keep my arrow weight up to at least 10 GPI and it knocks the target around pretty good.

Mine has Bamboo cores with ash veniers. The riser is Cocobola. This a beautiful bow. Lin

My son and I are meeting with him tomorrow afternoon to get an idea on what arrows to use.

I just noticed your town, my wife's family used to have a cottage on Rock Lake, but her parents enjoyed golf more than the cottage and they sold it.

I'm sure you have noticed how things are changing in Lake Mills. A guy bought the cottage for $265K and bull dozed it. put up a 6000 square foot house. I can't remmeber the street name, but you turned right at what is now the Kwik Trip, went to the end of that road and took a left - lol.

We sure miss going there in the summers, is a beautiful town and lake.

Tim, it's a small world, isn't it?  Sadly, most people that live here can't afford to live on the lake anymore. I've seen houses there sell for $700K and still be visited by the bulldozer. Can't remember the last time I was out on the lake. Beauty has a price....
