Just got home for teaching Karate, no messages on the phone so we'll still have to wait to here the rest of the story. Rumor has it the old Montana dropped him in his tracks......

Alright boys, alright...
Things started out pretty interesting this week. Took two days off to do some serious deer hunting. Now, in these two days, I've seen turkeys and deer. I've shot at countless squirrels. Was even serenaded by a pack of coyotes. Yet, nothing on the meatpole.
Now, Ken and I have a truly special stand. It really is an amazing place. It's also smack-dabe in the middle of a typical northern zone gun season. I've been told time and time again how impossible it is to take a deer; heck, a buck (anterless aren't legal up north during rifle). So let's see...highly pressured deer, antler restrictions; that occursed blaze orange wrapped around me. A hike up a mountain vs a nice level field. What's a bowhunter to do?

Ten minutes after this pondery, I was relishing the burn as my legs took that mountain for all it had...

Anyone wanna guess which tradgang mod I wanna be when I grow up???  :goldtooth:

Now, I wasn't smart, I wasn't psychic. Just a good ol' boy who loves breath-taking views and the most beautiful scenery in the north. Besides, seven years have taught me that you can't kill a deer with a bow anyway. So, where's the harm?
Of course, I also like a little action on my plate. So after a few hours of nothing straight, I was getting ready to call it quits. But by god, what kind of example is that? For my friends, for my family? Heck, for TradGang? So by God, I was going to sit there until dark or I saw a deer.
Imagine my surprise when I heard brush being crush underfoot, not 100 yards from the stand...
