Thought i'd post here, been on here a while soaking up the info. I'm not really traditional, and have used a compound alot, and dont think i'll ever put a shotgun down for long during spring turkey season. Hope you'll still have me. But I started making (experimenting) selfbows about a year ago and absolutely love it, (hunted a little last fall with one and missed a small 8 point with one). I really think i like making em as much as shootin em.
I love the attitude on this sight usually very positive compared to some others i've found. I'm impressed with all yalls work, especially yalls selfbows put out by guys like ryano and ferret, any ways thought i'd post some pics of my first few attempts at bows. All osage, made my first out of hickory but it was so tough to work, the osage seems alot easier to me.
Haven't quite figured out this tiller stuff, the little sinew with snake skins is 51" and 42# @ 28 and shoots good (pic at brace and draw), the big flat one is 68" 55#
@ 28 and shoots decent, but has alot of handshock and can get uncomfortable after a few shots, the other two were experiments with left over wood.
Well thanks to all for all the good info yall are always posting here for free.
