Abbott brace height
«

Can anyone please tell me what the brace height should be for an Abbott longbow. I actually have two of them and am working on proper arrow selection. I am using the spine calculator, but want to make sure brace height is close to start off. Thanks in advance for any help.

I also have two Abbotts, and keep them braced at 6 3/4". I'm don't have any printed information from Steve, but I remember asking him when I bought one of the bows, so I probably set it at whatever he said. To be honest, I haven't experimented around with other brace heights, so a little more or less might work better, but the bows seem to work fine at 6 3/4".
Has anyone heard from Steve, and does anyone know if he plans to continue making bows?

McDave, thanks for replying. I will give that a try. As for Steve, unfortunately the last I heard was that he was driving a truck and not building bows. I sure hope that info is wrong. I would love to have another one of his bows.

I was just shooting my Abbott the other day. It is the third one I've had over the years. I have always braced mine at 7-1/2". Must be how I grip the bow but all my bows need braced at least that high.
They are beautiful bows aren't they?
