I got mine the other day and dug into it so much that I actually foregoed sitting in a November treestand to read it! I read the whole thing and am in the process of reading it again. It is a masterpiece. Gene wrote that this would probably be his last book on whitetails. I sure hope this is not true, but appreciate what he and Barry have given us passionate whitetail hunters. I have said it here before, but I read Hunting Rutting Whitetails, and One Mans Whitetail as a youngster and those books really helped shape me to be the type of person I am today. I'm a big music fan, and music can be very influential in a persons life, but no other art form has influenced me as much as these writings. My father does not hunt. He took me deer hunting when I was a kid simply because I was interested in it. It took him awhile to realize it, but he finally seems to understand that my job is simply not worth the money in November. He used to shake his head at me, but I think now he respects and even envys me. What I find the most fascinating about the "Brothers of the Bow" is that their passion for what we love has not wanned in the least bit. Hunting needs more of these type of people, and thankfully a number of them visit this site. I still love to watch "Bowhunting October Whitetails" and fantisize about growing up in rural Montana and hunting big bucks with Gene and Barry. I should also say, that I am grateful that Barry has decided to write a book and share his experiences with us. I can't wait to read that one!
