Proper String Length for Bear Cub
« on: November 19, 2009, 08:36:00 AM »
Gentlemen,
I sent the following e-mail to Bear Archer:

Hello,
I have an old bear cub that is in fantastic shape. I would like to use it for deer hunting.  I need to know what string length I should use for this bow. Here is the information that is shown on the bow:

Upper Inside Limb:
-Bear Glass Powered Cub

Lower Inside Limb:
-Bear Archery Company. Grayling, Michigan
-U.S. Patents
   2,423,765
   2,613,660
   2,665,678
   Canada 1953

Left Side of Bow Below Grip
-A
-VN328
-62"
-50#

Thanks for your assistance.

Bear Archery hasn't responded to my e-mail.  Any help that you could provide with proper brace height and string length will be appreciated.

Thanks
Good hunting ethics will keep us all hunting.

String length will be 58-59", braced at around 8" (measured from the deepest part of the grip).  The draw weight is 50@28.

Get a 59" flemish-twist, dacron string..12 strands..twist to brace.  Brace should be between 7 1/2 and 8" somewhere....wherever you like it best for your shooting.
