I've killed rabbits with judos and hex heads but I like the hex heads better.   They seem to last longer (no springy things to wear out).

Here's my prize from last year's Great Ohio Rabbit Hunt (GORH):

I've seen jackrabbits take some tuff hits and get up and run again. Maybe an old broadhead for them too. Those whitetail jackrabbits are about as big as Alabama deer.

I see a lot of folks mentioning the Hammerhead on other threads. I also saw a number of people that use broadheads when it comes to jackrabbits. Anyone used the Hammerhead or Ace Hex on jackrabbits? Or is sticking to broadheads with jacks the way to go?

I have had great results with small feild points with a washer behind them for a really good smack sound when they hit.  They work well on frogs too.

Rabbits are easy to kill.  I used to use the HTM blunts over a steel blunt.  I never lost one using those.....blunt force trauma.  Squirrels are another story; they are a lot tougher then Brer' Rabbit and need a good thumpin'.  I like the Hammerheads or Ace Hex for them.

I have never had a problem with the good old nutter.

Screw that 5/16 nut on the end of a tapered wood shaft and you are good to go.

I am 5 for 5 with this combo. Ready to get after em again as soon as big game season is over...

Here's a pic of one of the prototypes for a new small game point that I will have available very soon.  Has a blunt tip for shock, three resharpenable blades for hemorrage, and the concave end seems to help in keeping the head from sliding under grass.  Should have them in hand and ready to ship by the 16th of Dec.  The actual head has a little more blunt up front, these penetrated too well, but were awfully effective on nutria, raccoons, geese, squirrels and possums.  Website for ordering is in the works.

As someone who loves chasing small game more than sitting in a deer stand, thank you Stan. A new head to use & abuse...really looking forward to it...

GK,

You were the only fella to kill a rabbit on that hunt, right? At least that is what I seem to remember.

Stan, will you have a glue on or screw in that you can make 300gr out of?

Stan...that head looks very functional, please keep us informed. I like to use any old three blade broadhead.

I think two bunnies died on Saturday (and some more on Sunday).  I was fortunate enough to take one of the Saturday ones.

We converted him into chili.  :-D

Don't want to hijack a thread, but I will answer a couple of questions.  I'm trying to do this on a pay as I go basis.  I am working on a glue-on head, but it won't be available right away.  Also working on getting some heavy weights, but to start I could only afford to make 125 grain screw-ins.  I will definitely keep you all posted.  Should be ready to ship out in 2-3 weeks.  Thanks,

Stan
