Cold weather shooting

I'm a glove shooter, and heading to Ks. for a hunt next week.  The weather there will be quite a bit colder than here in Houston.  What do you guys do wtih the glove hand when its cold out?

That is one reason I changed to a tab, can be slid over a glove and shoot close to the same.

I use a winter glove on my bow hand and still wear my archery glove on my drawing hand. I use one of those football handwarmers that you strap arouund your waist.

fingerless fleece or wool glove on top of my shooting glove.

I wear a fingerless wool glove and my shooting under it. Works great, also you can put a hand warmer in your pocket.

I have a extra large Damascus that I put over a regular glove. Or i use a tab.

Regular glove on my bow hand, and my damascus glove under one of those flip style mittens on my string hand! And the disposable handwarmers are the greatest thing ever!

I hate gloves, they mess up my feel for my bow, and there is no way, "I myself" could put a glove under my shooting glove! I wear the fingerless but I don't even like them. I think the only way to go is the hand warmer, a friend of mine has one and it works real good, just slides his hands out and he's ready to go!! I'll eventually get one myself! Jason

get the mitt/gloves the ones that flip open to a fingerless glove. When you have it as a mitt you can have hand warmer in there to keep fingers warm. Flip open to shoot. Just ware you shooting glove under the mitt/glove.

Well I've never used a "shooting glove" instead I use a pair of soft leather gloves. They keep me good down to say 10. From 10 down to -10 I wear a pair of glomitts and shoot bare fingered. Below -10 I wear my regular winter gloves and just take off the draw hand glove before I shoot.

Glomitts are the mitts with a flip top as described above and they are not all created equally! Get a pair that is wool lined with fleece and you should be good for just about any temps you will see down there.

You can always use a muffler of some sort (with heat packs in it even) and keep you hands in there until it's time to shoot.

The fleece glommit gloves work great your glove goes on and then they do I love it.

I use silk glove liners, and a disposable hand warmer in my pocket.

I usually use a brown cotton work glove with the first three fingers cut out that I slip over my glove.  The bow hand is a cotton glove with rubber nubs on it for grip.  Put the right hand in your pocket while on stand.

Get one of the hand muffs. Your glove will fit in it fine. And if it gets real cold throw in some heat packs.
