Look what was waiting for me on the porch
« on: April 09, 2007, 04:52:00 PM »
Hey I am just as happy as I can be.  I got home from work today and on the front porch there was a bow waiting for me.  I couldn't get changed and outside fast enough!!

Thanks Matty for an awesome bow!

It is a Dryad Wind Talker  52#@28" and undoubtabley the quietest bow I have shot.  Not as fast as a 'curve but without a doubt every bit as accurate.

This is probably the 6th or 7th round I shot with it then it hit me to take pics....

I think I'll go skulking thru the woods with a few judos and see what I can find to shoot.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys.  I just killed a bunch of stumps, several old coke cans, the remainder of a glass bottle, several clumps of grass and missed a bird.  Man those jokers can jump a string... I'm really digging that bow!!

Wingnut if you're out there...great bow man!!

The target is one slayer1 made.  Check him out on the sponsor page.  It is one of the best targets I have ever had.  I have only shot the front you see in the pics and have shot it at least a thousand times and it isn't even close to wearing out.  And I still have the other flat side and all the way around the round side.

Scott's targets are the best I've ever shot also.I've had mine for close to 2 years and probably have 5000 shots at least thru it and still haven't started on the backside yet.

Beautiful bow too!!A Windtalker has been on my list for quite awhile............someday.......

Madness,
In a few weeks you'll be shooting groups like this at 20 yards so consistantly it will feel like breathing.

This was with my Windtalker.  Only reason I don't shoot it now is I got my Bushwhacker!   :knothead:
Love their bows!

Sweet bow Barry. Looks like you are coming along with your accuracy too. It always puts a smile on my face to see someone shooting one of my targets to oblivion. lol  :bigsmyl:  Good luck wearing it out.

Hey I'm with Bard1, I love my wind talker it's 49 @ 28 and shoots like a dream. I also have a bushwacker on order and can't wait plus I am in the process of putting the finish on a dryad blank that i have finished into a shooting bow. It was my first effort and I am pretty pleased with the way it came out.

Barry I hope you will be as won over with the Dryad bows as I have been. The whole line is first rate as well as the people that stand behind them.

Bard, nice shooting!  I starting to have a problem deciding which bow to shoot.  There is a 3D shoot this saturday and I'll need to pick one and practice with it until then.

TJ I don't really know what woods are in the bow.  I do know bamboo is one of them.  I got this bow second or third hand.

David, If remember when I get home I'll get another pic of it unstrung.

Scott I love that target.  Me thinks it will take a long time to wear out.

T-mac you got pics of progress from blank to bow?  I saw those blanks on their web site and thought building one would be a lot of fun to build my own.  Maybe one day...

Varmit what you waiting for man?  The Wind Talker is a worthy bow to have.  I am now a firm beliver in skinny little limbs and what they can accomplish!

very nice.
“instinctive archery” is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Hey Barry thanks in advance for the unstrung profile pic. Could you take a close up of the handle as well? What is the lenght of the bow? I really like those lines and the color of the osage with the handle wood whatever it is. I don't see the windtalker on their website. Is it still in production?
