"what kind of arrow speed could i expect form a 55 pound 62 in kajika stick"
I don't honestly know.I can tell you I have a heavy set of arrows that I was able to tune to my 48# and 53# Mojo and also a newer,57# Bear TD,all 56" bows. Both Mojo Stiks would out-penetrate the Bear.I'm not saying the bear is a fast bow but I know it would kill bear, moose elk and other big game.

It's just as fast as my Black Swan and a Morrison that I had. Within a few fps.

These bows(whisperstiks) hold there own with the top end bows out there as far as speed, but what really sold me was how quiet these shoot! I guess that's where JD got the name whisperstik!

You won't be disappointed, very nice bows. I shoot one of his longbows and it shoots swell.

Super Bows. Probably the best value going in Traditional archery. Jim's attention to detail is superb. Smooth, quiet and fast. Every quality you would want in a bow. Here's a pic of the Mojo's I've picked up recently from fellow Tradganger's and a pic of the limb's that will be on the Kajika that Jim's building for me right now. If you work with him you'll be more than happy.

I love mine although it is still new. The grip took a little getting used to but this thing is fast quiet and packs a punch. It is a 58" voodoo stick 50lbs. I am now shooting it quite well. It seems most people have a hangup with the grip and seems to be the mojor reason why they sell them try one and see if you like it. Great workmanship and great bow for the money.

Let me start out by saying I am new to trad and this sight. I joined sometime ago but have been just watching reading and learning! This is my first post. I recently bought one of JD's Whisperstik bows... (the one with the tulip wood limbs and northern water snake wraps). It arrived Monday and finally shot it for the first time yesterday! WOW... I am really impressed with the bow. It's a 52" mojostik 55# @ 28". JD has been great to work with and gone way beyond the call of duty to help me out. My wife bought me the bow for our 30th anniversity. (little help from me) I've decided to name her "XXX Annie" because it was our 30th. She has great curves and shoots like a dream. I plan on having a date with her this weekend!

I have known JD for years and he was the driving force for me to drop fully into trad. He is a great guy and builds some awesome bows. I have the first prototype 56" mojo. I have killed more game with this bow than all the others I own combined. Sweet, short and powerful, not to mention the beauty and workmanship.
As far as grips go, JD will work with you to make it the way you like. The standard grip with the "bulb" is the only one that takes getting used to. The classic grip seems to be to everyones liking.

Jim's bows are the best value on the market, in my opinion. I have a 62" recurve and a 62" longbow. Personally, I like his longbow better, since I seem to just like longbows over recurves.
But as far as his recurve, think more along the lines of Black Widow speed without the noise, you get a better selection of better custom woods and it's roughly half the cost.
What's not to love?
