I've got the Dremmel tool and cut off wheels now I just have to find me the right piece of metal.

heat it until it is bright orange and then sloooooooooooooooly let it cool.

I had time to sand down the handle a bit tonight. I will use tung oil as the finish.

You're killin' me! That thing looks awesome! Hey, I just had an idea! I work for a landscape company and my boss has been whinning for a helle knife. Maybe I can take an old pruning blade(we have alot of them laying around)and make him a knife like that one. Thanks for the motivation and instructions. Mike

All Right! Nice job. Got me thinking about what I can do with a worn out saw blade. Now where can I find some time.

quick question:  are you using a dremmel to cut out the blade?  and what kind of eye protection do you need to wear.  i've never played with metal but i'd like to give it a try.  and how do you shape the handle....

Dremel makes a Diamond Cut Off Wheel as well, thats what I would Use anyway.

Eye protection???  Now look, I have something in my eye.  ;)  I wear safety glasses and sometimes a full face shield with them.

I Finished the saw blade knife. The tung oil really gives it a good shine.
