No luck on finding him today,

I walked all over and repeated the blood trail but nothing, no coyote sign or vultures (which we have many and they  find the deer quick) so maybe and these is my positive thinking again he is not dead and will come back.

It started raining at about 2pm and it will keep like these till thursday so i will go to my stand on friday morning, they say it will be sunny and maybe he will be around for a second shot.

I don't know has someone had an experience of a deer taking several days to die, or survive a shot like these?

thanks

All I can say is stick with it. I made a horrible shot on a mule deer buck a few years ago. The first arrow struck him at 8:00am I trailed him two canyons to the south and put a second arrow in him at 4:00pm. Still no luck, we found the deer dead two days later. I have been there and it is tough, try to stay positive and learn from the blood trail.

My lesson is painful and the taught of that day doesn't leave my mind , I should have waited more time to search for the deer , the problem is that i knew i had to wait more and the bloody arrow and peer pressure told me to go after him, I hope i recover him but, it feels horrible to watch the woods and know he must be laying some where and feel incompetent about it.

Go to the closest water where you shot him. If that is a gut or liver shot he will go there and stay close to it until he gets better or dies. I have found several deer that way. God bless and good luck Steve

The sky opened up and we woke up to a sunny day, So the search was on, and a picture is worth a thousand words.

Gerardo, Im glad you found your Buck, CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT SHOT!

Its incredible to see an arrow with that much blood and actually no blood trail.
We have been hitting deer and have been having trouble finding blood trails. We think that they are still too fat and the wounds are closing up rapidly after the arrow exits them.

We will continue posting pictures, good luck to everyone!

Wow, that's great you found him and even better that you stayed with it.  Many would have quit and let it go.

I'm proud you are part of our campfire.
