Instick, If you sand with 2000 grit wet sandpaper you will still need to buff it out with a rubbing compound or some type of polishing compound. I detail cars and remove scratches with 2000 grit wet sandpaper but you still have to use a polishing or buffing compound to get a gloss finish. The 2000 grit will give you a nice satin finish but not gloss. I would recomend Dupont poishing compound or a scratch and swirl remover which you can find at any auto parts store or wally world.
