Jack Paluh Traditional Artworks...?
«

G'day all,
Well again I found myself dreaming on Jack's website looking at all the fine artwork. One of these days I'm planning on placing an order just to have one on my wall. I'd like a few, but the mounting cost would have me in a death grip from my dear wife...!
Anways, I just thought I see what TradGnagers had any of his works on your den walls?
My favorite is "In Thanksgiving". How about you?

I bought the living off the land series (I have 4 hanging on the walls around me now. I made a rule when I bought them I wouldn't frame them until I shot what was in the picture. Then I put something for the hunt in the framing. A feather an arrow ect.. My favorite is either whitetail ambush or the 1st turkey one "Native hunters".
1 problem though. These signed and numbered get their value and increase in value from being limited in number. A few years ago Jack bought a machine to make and sell smaller versions of all the prints he's made. It has definatly affected the value of the first ones, like mine . I was told by those in the art collecting world this is a big NoNo. You can see the climb in value stopped when these cheaper versions started flooding the market. So if your buying for art investment, forget it. It only hurt guys like me who enjoyed watching my prints go up in value. I am sure everyone else likes the less expensive costs. I still like the prints, he has some really neat hunt scenario's.

Jack's work is top shelf for sure. I met him and is young son a couple of years ago at a local Rendezvous near Buffalo NY. We shot a round of 3D's together and chewed the fat for awhile.
He is a great guy to talk to and very down to earth.

You guys would DROOL over Ron LaClairs workshop. He has several of Jacks prints, as well as other Native American and Mountain Man paintings.

I took a course in framing at a local community center, framing a few prints that I had lying around in the process. It cost a lot less than having it done!

Marion Anderson is another great one. Ron actually "posed' for one of her mountainman prints. I'm still looking for one. I have three others on my cabin walls. Also one from Jack. I traded him an osage selfbow for it at one of the RMEF shows. It hangs over our log bed. Awesome!

DougS- good point. I have the entire series, plus others and once the small prints came out, I basically stopped buying them. I loved watching the price go up, but have not seen an increase in some time. I thought that was a bad business move and I did not like to see it, but I guess I would do it to if it meant selling pictures....... I sure like his work though.......

I have the "Woodland Encounter" that I would be interested in trading for one of his other prints.
If anyone is interested, just send me a pm or email me
[email protected]
Thanks, Robert
