Best site to look at exotic woods??
« on: November 30, 2009, 05:20:00 PM »
I've looked at some of the online sights but haven't found any good ones yet.  I'm trying to find that perfect wood veneers combo for a new bow.

thanks,
Ken

hey thanks for the info, I'll look up his page.  the bow is a Mohawk.  I want an all black with red overlays Shrew, and I'm not sure what I want on the Mohawk but hopefully I'll get it figured out soon.

If you want to see lots of different species, try hobbithouseinc.com, but the site does not sell anything

Cooks Woods has a great selection.

I bought some Marblewood from them for my Silvertip recurve.

I buy most of my exotic type from woodworkers source.  They always have specials, and good prices.

Okay, I think I might have it figured out but hopefully some of my wood choices will work for bow limb veneers.

Zircote, Black and White Ebony, Zebra wood, and Spalted Beech.  Check out this pic of the beech:
