Long wood arrows
« on: December 04, 2009, 01:03:00 PM »
I've been shooting carbon for several years and wanted to go back to wood but 3 Rivers doesn't offer long shafts anymore.  They used to have both Chundo and Poplar that would make a finished arrow 32" bop but not anymore.  Where can I get long wood these days?  Is Troy Breeding still around?

I don't think Troy is still making shafts. Sure wish he was, I liked working with him.
You could get footed shafts to add length but that's pretty expensive. Less costly is the   Reparrow Footings.  .

Hickory Creek might make you some longer shafting, or get them footed by Raptor Archery.

You might try Allegheny Mountain Arrow Woods.
Heads Carolina, Tails California...somewhere greener...somewhere warmer...or something soon to that effect...

Make your own w/jig & router. Plans in the archives. Burnish at the same time which will add much strength.

D Sheffey, I have matched barrel tapered poplar in spines of 65-70, 70-75, and 75-80 in 33" length. You can PM me if that's what you're looking for.
