It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Depends. If I'm stalking i have the legs out because sticks and brush slapping are loud against a rubber boot. Tucked in keeps you warmer. Just remember once you tuck in ya gotta leave it that way cause your pant legs will get stinky and sweaty in a hurry.
Just one more step please!

If your pants legs are just the right length and drape well, you can leave them out. If your boots are scratched and muddy, you must leave the pants legs out to cover them, regardless of how long they are compared to this year's fashion. But the boots are the thing, you know, and you should show them off if they are handsome.

Tucked in for sure, or your pants will soak up water and you'll get wet.

When in tick country, tuck pant leg into sock, then cinch top of rubber boot tight.

This will save your wife about 15 minutes of quality time going over ya with a tweezers, but then again.......

Didn't Brad Paisley just write a song about that?

The best thing in the world for ticks are buckwing brand gaiters.  They are made out of the same type of material that an elbow brace is made out of and they go over your pantleg/boot laces.  They protect your cuffs, keep ticks and chiggers out and keep the laces tied and burr free.  I don't go in the woods without them when it is hot.

As for the original question, pant legs definately go in.  Only a renegade like Guru would wear them out.  ;o)

personaly, i like them in, seems easier that way, specialy trying to cross a small stream or something like that, and not having to worry if the legs drag. my bibs are too bulky to let me wear them that way though and it annoys the heck out of me.

You buy rubber boots for two reasons. Dryness and scent controll. With the exception of scentlock pants, all others should be worn inside if you are hunting something where scent is an issue.
