I think I'll be closing the deal today on a new-to-me HH Big 5 about 70" and 50#@28. It comes with a Selway slip-on quiver and 5 arrows armed with HH broadheads.
I had to sacrifice one of my favorites to get it done but its an itch that just had to be scratched. I hope I'm not sorry. I doubt I will be.
I've been shooting a bamboo backed hickory straight limbed and about 69" n-t-n 55#@28 and it feels just so natural.
To top that off, there's a selfbowyer that wants to build me a bamboo backed red oak for one of my stave's that's been cut for about 10 yrs. After seeing one of his bows in a primitive sites "bow of the month" contest I decided we had a deal. I shipped his hedge out yesterday. I told him I wanted one 69-72" n-t-n and 45-55#@28 with a touch of set back built into it so I'd hopefully end up with about and inch to and inch and a half of string follow.
I'll keep you posted on the acquisition of the HH. Someone might have to drive over and show me how it will shoot since as of tomorrow I won't be able to shoot anything for 6 weeks according to my surgeon. I do intend to follow his rules!! I do intend to follow his rules, I do intend to follow his rules!!!!! lol I need to get that ground into my head. I might be a little bummed about not being able to do what I want to do but I am excited at the promise of being able to hunt again the way I want to in the up coming 2010 season.
Hahaha This post is kinda all over the map. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve driving to the dentists' office.
The distracts seem to be helpful in keeping my mind off of what is in store for me. If anyone has any time for an extra little prayer, I'd sure appreciate it!!
God bless,Mudd
