Small but my first kill
« on: December 10, 2009, 06:43:00 PM »

Started out with a wheelie 4 years ago at the age of 47. Switched to a Bear Montana Longbow this year still without a kill to my credit. That is, until a Button Buck came my way this past Saturday.....came in about 18 yards to the right of my tree, quartered away, and I took my shot.....100 yards later I tracked my first kill, a double lung shot no less .....what a feeling....My next goal is to try to do so on the ground....I have been on the ground a lot and am having trouble having anything come close enough for an ethical shot....but I will keep trying....Thanks to all on this site for all the information and willing guidance to greenhorn's like myself....

"but I will keep trying"

That sentence fragment is no doubt what traditional archery is all about.

Awesome job, and I loved the photo.

A heartfelt congrats to you, and a wish for many happy returns!!!
