HOGS on the Golf Course...Going this weekend!
« on: December 11, 2009, 05:28:00 AM »
So I got the low-down last night from a guy in Monahans, TX. They have a golf course full of hogs at night. I actually was at a Christmas party there about 7 years ago and saw some. Apparently all you have to do is talk to the greens keeper that lives there and you can hunt them at night. Obviously he just wants them dead. I'm gonna' go talk to the guy on Sunday and get the scoop.       :readit:

I'll keep y'all posted. =0)

Good luck with that, how good are you at shooting at night with trad gear?

Sure would like to find a place that that just wants my help for the hogs and not a lot of money for it.
Ask me about CTO.

Do you yell "fooouuuur" before of after you shoot the arrow, maybe in flight if it looks like it might hit. Good Hunting!

Should be fun just look out for the Chetah on the course with you.  Tiger might be around.

Check with the game officials about night hunting on private land.you don't want Judge Schmales (Caddy Shack for you younger guys)reporting you to the authorities. And only shoot them on the green right at the pin I can imagine the blood trail.good luck

Hogs you can kill 24/7/365, and can kill them just about any way short of poison or explosives because they are such a problem in Texas. So there is no issue there.

I'm thinking about getting a few guys and spotlighting them. We'll see.

Good luck.  Maybe you could use golf carts like the plains Indians used horses on their buffalo hunts.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Can you figure out a way to hang a tree stand on one of those little flag poles?

I've had that same scenario happen at the golf course by my house and we took full advantage of it.  It's a little bit surreal to be pig hunting on perfectly trimmed course grass but hey, I'm not going to complain!

The only hog I ever saw on a golf course, cussed me out and tried to hit me with her umbrella when I accidently picked up her ball.  I thought she was looking for truffles 8^).
