Well made, warm and about the same weight as my L. L. Bean washable wool shirts.  The only issue I have with a pull over (not specific tho the Asbell shirts)m is that there is no way to vent when you get too hot hiking in, etc. since you are not able to open the front of the shirt as you can one with buttons, zipper, etc.  These shirts are a great value.  I especially am interested in the new ones with the removable cape/hood.

I bought one a while back and I can't speak highly enough about it. Top quality, fits well, and helps me be "more traditional" at the same time.

I ordered it and it came super fast too. Can't go wrong IMO and G. Fred is a sponsor here too!

They must have just put them back on the website because they were not there a few days ago. They are a real pleasure to deal with - very fast. Pick up a knife with your order they are very nice as well.

I have been looking hard at the "new" Mackinaw....anyone have one yet?

Not to be too dumb but what exactly is this? Lining or an over layer you pull over the pullover?

jcar315, i had just e-mail Ms. Asbell that same question yesterday, the Mackinaw is a hood and shoulder layer of wool it has the armhole and extends down just past your arm pits.

jcar315,

It is an extra layer.  You have a regular shirt, with a hooded Mackinaw that covers your shoulders as an extra layer when needed.  It's easier to get into and out of than a vest over the shirt.  (But the vests are nice all on their own.)

I can't wait to get mine and try it out.

Call Teresa Asbell and talk about your size. She makes every shirt.

I could not be happier with mine. Superb quality.

I bought an Asbell hooded vest in September and have used it almost every time I have hunted since.  Very happy with the product.  Think I'll place an order for a hooded pullover next.

Perfect for layering. I don't like clothing that is tight around my neck and the Asbel pull over fits just right. The length is great to keep cold air from your lower back while sitting. The arms are cut right for shooting a bow too.

Well thought out piece of bowhunting clothing.

I wore one this morning in temps that started out at 15 degrees....long johns, Woolrich shirt, GFA pullover, and a wool vest and I was fine. Great product, super quality, sooooooo inexpensive for the quality of workmanship and materials. I really can't believe they sell them as cheaply as they do.
