I got a model just like that, I have to show my wife that not just our kitchen table looks like what yours does.

I see an undone crossword puzzle...
Who came up with the retro pink-and-black motif?
That looks like one happy home.

Man thats good stuff right there. Don't blink highcountry cause time goes by quick. Enjoy every single minute with them. I have twin girls that just turned 22 gradutating college now and one is getting married this summer. Seems like last week I was taking pics like that. When they was about that age I bought them a book, kit to make braided wristbands, necklaces etc. To this day I have them each make me one for hunting season. I don't ever wear jewelry, ain't supersticous, etc but man they bring me good luck. First year they each made me one and I went carbiou hunting. Shot my first bou and was field dressing it when I saw one wristband had came untied and was laying on my bou. Carefully stuffed it back in my pocket. Two days later shot my second bou and watched it go down. Went up to grab it by the horns for my hero pic and FELT the wristband slide off and watched it in slow motion fall down and hang on the antlers just in time for the picture. I've got lots of stories just like that through the years. Neither hunt, but aren't against it and love the meat it provides but they know my christmas gift everyear better include a new wristband. Sorry for the rant your pic just brought back alot of memories. Thanks.
Most people get rich by making more money than they have needs, me, I just reduced my needs!

A few Tradgangers told me they would also like to create a big mess with this unnecessary fun! I am no expert but I really can make a good mess. So here are a few more pictures and my ways of taking over the kitchen table.  My fly tying room is now my little sweetheart's "pink room".
1. You need nasty cold weather outside or you will end up running out the door with your bow.
2. Sharp exacto or razor blade, semi sharp, sand paper, cutting board and a tape measure or sort.
3. Lots of Cookie Chisp or other bribe.
4. Bunch of full length with couple of your colors. Glue, no worries of brand because this is not attched to the arrow, just feathers. Here we go!

Cut the size you want for your feather. With the razor trim off the barbs on the quill. Carefull, just the barb & skin. With small tab of sand paper rub towards you holding the front tip. With the grain. Next cut the size you cut prior off a other color. Here I did 2". Put it in a jig clamp and rub the quill down just prior to the barb skin. Trim the side the long peice just to take the color off. Glue it together and put back in the clamp just prior to glue setting.

I cut all the end 2" feathers at one time. Trim all the long feathers down on the quill.  Make extra just in case you over cut or crash an arrow down the road. Put the spliced feathers in a feather copper or a Young's burner works(only out in the shop, it really smells burning feathers). With a rubber mallet give it a good wack! Presto.  You will learn little tricks as you monkey around. Bob Burton did the cresting on the last set of feathers I made. I have three dozen from Great Basin Footed shafts/Kye to make up this winter.
