This has been a GREAT thread to just sit on the sidelines and follow.  Joe

You asked for it Steve! Okay this is this years opening weekend buck- I actually shot him last year and he ran around the lease with the arrow sticking out of him for months  :(  . That wasn't a good feeling. I did not know it when I shot him, but the broadhead and about an inch or two of shaft were still in him! The were under his backbone and encassed in grissle. No sign of infection and completely healthy. He and I had a score to settle. I won.

When I hit him the year before-almost to the day- he hit the ground and I thought I had spined him. I reached for the kill arrow and he lept up and ran. Peanut couldn't find him and I was depressed until he was seen running around- then mixed emotions took over. Kinda like when your mother-in-law drives off a cliff, but it's in your new truck!

Maybe Les still has pics of him with the arrow sticking out.

Marty, I think that buck beats Schafer's antelope on doggedness of pursuit...one year watching and waiting trumps 27 miles.  Way to stick with it

You can shoot deer down there until you run out of arrows.

Gene killed soooo many hogs one trip- this is how I put him on the airplane!! Donna wasn't very happy with me. You all should be thankful- I had to revive him from heat stroke. It wasn't pretty!

Hey Marty!!!

Do you think you could post some of that wonderful sausage cooking video that I know you have.  Remember when Whitey Mitten was there and you were putting him on the hogs?  I would love to see that.    :bigsmyl:

Then Ferrett would know just what type of host you really are!

Merry Christmas All.

He definitely has some impressive stalking abilities.  He's heck on coons too!

I agree with you Steve. There are two sides to every story. Whitey being a truthful guy, did not edit out any of the commentary and footage that put Marty in line with the greatest guides and most generous hosts who couldn't take blame for the shortcomings of his guest (Whitey himself). However; at the end of the clip, being sooooo thruthfull, Whitey had to show Marty on many of is own personal hunts that weren't so flattering. Videos don't lie. Ha! Ha!
