Local Bowyer, Wichita Kansas
« on: December 16, 2009, 07:57:00 AM »
We have a Local bowyer here that I am thinking of
buying one of his bows. They shoot really well, I was wanting a takedown but after shooting his one piece I might go that route. Does anyone know anything about Holzrichter bows in Wichita ks?
I have known him for a long time but there is only a limited number of his bows out there. I know he has gone to some of the bigger shoots in Oklahoma just not sure what he has sold since I have been out of trad for a few years. I am just getting back into it. now I am shooting everything.

Well - John is kinda ugly, but he makes a great bow.  I knew him for quite a while before he talked me into trying one of his bows.  I own and have shot more kinds of bows than seems reasonable.  I like most of them.  But I was amazed at how well his takedown recurve shot.  I bought one and got another set of limbs for it this year.  I don't think I have ever missed a deer with it.  Since you know John, you know he stands behind his bows.  I'm still a reluctant bow junkie (I hate to spend money), but if I had to trim the herd down to one bow, I believe his is the one I would keep.

I have one of his takedown recurves. It's a great shooter, very smooth to draw with no stack.

Dave Beeler is also a bowyer in Wichita.  Great guy and great bow.  Though I think he may have limited the number of bows he is gonna make in 2010.  He wants to have the time to take his boy hunting next year!

I will talk with John in the next couple of days and see if he will allow me to take some pics and post them for you guys. I hope he is planning on doing some bigger shoots but I am doubting it.
Yes he makes a one piece bow, I think it may his best looking bow yet!
